Principal’s Message
Principal’s Message for 2026-2027
Dear Chamberlayne Families, Scholars, and Community Members,
As the doors of Chamberlayne Elementary School open for another exciting academic year, I am filled with immense gratitude and enthusiasm. Whether your family is joining us for the very first time or returning for another year of learning and growth, welcome home! The start of a school year brings a fresh sense of energy, hope, and opportunity for every single child who walks onto our campus.
Over the past several years, our school community has evolved. Today’s classrooms represent a vibrant tapestry of cultures, languages, traditions, races, and life experiences. This diversity is not just something we happen to have—it is our greatest strength. To honor who we are today and where we are going together, our guiding theme for this school year is: "Bridging Cultures & Connecting Minds"
This theme is more than just a tagline; it is our shared commitment to creating a school environment where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. The two main pillars of our guiding theme are explained below:
- Bridging Cultures: We recognize that "culture" encompasses many things—our racial and ethnic heritages, the languages spoken in our homes, the unique experiences of veteran and new educators, and the diverse family structures that enrich our neighborhood. Bridging cultures means building pathways of understanding, empathy, and respect so that every family and student feels a genuine sense of belonging here.
- Connecting Minds: Learning happens when minds meet. Connecting minds means fostering deep curiosity, encouraging collaborative problem-solving, and helping our students discover how much they can accomplish together. When we connect minds across different backgrounds and perspectives, we teach our children how to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world.
Excellence in education is a team effort. As educators, our promise to you is to nurture both the academic and emotional growth of your children in a safe, inclusive, and joyous environment. In turn, we invite you—our families and partners—to stay connected, engage with us, and share your unique voices and stories throughout the year. When we bridge our cultures and connect our minds, there is no limit to what our students can achieve. Thank you for trusting us with your children. I am proud to serve as your principal, and I look forward to an incredible school year ahead!
Warmest regards,
Mr. Goad
